Autonomous Ships: Theory and Practice – Presented by Ali Haseltalab and Rudy R. Negenborn, Maritime and Transport Technology Department, Delft University of Technology at the Unmanned Cargo Ship Conference, which takes place on June 13, 2017, at Maaspoort, Venlo, The Netherlands.

The Department of Maritime and Transport Technology of TU Delft is carrying out research on autonomous vessels, which can potentially solve some increasing problems in transportation, such as latency, tra­ffic in port areas and high costs. In this presentation the audience will be introduced to on-going research projects related to autonomous vessels.

About Ali Haseltalab
Ali Haseltalab is a PhD student/employee in the department of Maritime and Transport Technology at TU Delft. His current research interests include motion control of autonomous ships, modeling and control of on-board hybrid-electric power and propulsion systems and power and energy management strategies for autonomous vessels.

Dr. Rudy Negenborn is associate professor in automatic control & coordination of transport technology at the Section Transport Engineering & Logistics of Department Maritime & Transport Technology, Delft University of Technology.
